ReclamationBonds.com is a specialty surety underwriter founded in 2003, focused on bonds that other markets find difficult: reclamation, plugging, surface management, environmental remediation, and other long-tail obligations that demand more than a credit decision.
What we believe
Reclamation surety is, fundamentally, a bet on operational competence over twenty years. A clean credit profile today does not mean a site will be reclaimed on schedule in 2046. The opposite is also true — a leveraged operator with a disciplined plan and a clean compliance record is frequently a better bond risk than a well-capitalized newcomer.
We underwrite accordingly. We read the reclamation plan, talk to the regulator when appropriate, and structure terms that reflect the actual risk — not the risk an algorithm would assign.
What we do
- Reclamation surety for surface mining, hard-rock, sand and gravel, quarry, and aggregate operators in every U.S. state.
- Plugging and abandonment surety for upstream oil and gas operators, blanket and single-well, in every producing basin.
- Coal SMCRA bonds for permit areas under state and federal programs.
- BLM lease, exploration, statewide, nationwide, solid mineral, and surface management bonds.
- Court-ordered and consent-decree environmental remediation surety.
How we work
Every submission is reviewed by a senior underwriter. There is no triage desk and no automated decline. We will tell you, in writing and quickly, whether the bond can be written and on what terms — even when the answer is one we know the principal does not want to hear.

ReclamationBonds.com is a licensed surety producer in all fifty U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Bonds are issued on Treasury-listed surety paper from one or more of our markets, selected on a per-obligation basis to match the obligee's qualification requirements and the size of the bond.
